This meeting comprises consultation and round table discussions on best practices for environmental noise management with an emphasis on municipal and provincial actions across all levels of the environmental noise codes. One major goal is to reconcile different conceptualizations of environmental noise – whether it is a public health concern, quality of life indicator, environmental pollutant, or planning resource. We will support a discussion toward identifying implications for improving and harmonizing regulatory frameworks in Quebec and beyond. Presentations and discussions will be supported with materials in French and English. We welcome the participation of professionals, researchers and administrators of relevant areas. This event is supported by the ministries of Environmental (MDDELCC) and Health (MSSS) of Quebec and is organized in collaboration with McGill University, École de Technologie Supérieure, Université Laval and the Montreal Public Health Agency.
