RECONFIGURABLE ACOUSTIC LOGIC SWITCHES FOR BROADBAND BOOLEAN OPERATIONS BASED ON CODING ELEMENTS

A class of reconfigurable logic switch is designed for Boolean operations of acoustic waves. The switch is composed of one simple pitchfork-shaped structure and two coding elements (CEs). Boole-an logic functions are realized with the labyrinthine-based CE, which is capable of maintaining the amplitude while altering the phase of the input signal. Furthermore, a generalized coding element is presented to shift the arbitrary phase difference of input signals into π in broadband frequency. Therefore the interference of signals can be enhanced or cancelled. Our methods provide a diverse pathway to acoustic devices design for acoustic modulations and clinical diagnosis.
