The determination of the sound absorption coefficient according to ISO 354 depends on the measurement of the reverberation time which, in turn, must be determined in diffuse field condi-tions. It is then of importance to determine how to state such conditions. This paper aims at de-scribing the diffusion of the sound field in the space and frequency domains of the reverberation rooms taking advantage of measurements in the reverberation room of ITC-CNR in Milan.
