ADAPTIVE CONTROL AND EXPERIMENTAL VERIFICATION OF VERTICAL TAIL BUFFETING

A new variable step FXLMS adaptive control algorithm is proposed to drive piezoelectric ac-tuator in active control of the vertical tail buffeting response. Taking the vertical tail structure model as the research object, a variable step FXLMS adaptive controller is designed. Firstly, the first-order bending mode vibration control experiment is carried out to verify the control effect of the new algorithm. The time-domain response of the tip acceleration of the vertical tail model is finally suppressed by more than 90%. Then, the stochastic excitation force is used to simulate the buffeting load, and the buffeting control of the vertical tail model is carried out. The buffeting control experiment shows that with the proposed variable step size FXLMS adaptive control algorithm, the buffeting acceleration response of the vertical tail model are effectively reduced, which can be used in the wind tunnel buffeting control test.
