HYBRID WAVE SUPERPOSITION METHOD BASED ON THE SHAPE ESTIMATION OF VIBRATING OBJECTS

The wave superposition method (WSM) is one of the traditional methods for the reconstruction of an arbitrary sound source. However, with the absence of equivalent source configuration strategy, WSM cannot reconstruct the sound field accurately. In order to overcome this defect, a hybrid wave superposition method (HWSM) based on the estimation of vibrating objects is proposed. This method consist of three steps: (a) the three-dimensional (3D) localization of the sound source is calculated by the dual-hologram planes method; (b) then, the 3D localization can be used to estimate the shape of vibrating objects; (c) the equivalent source configuration strategy of the WSM is formulated based on the estimate shape. The HWSM reduces the dimension of the WSM matrix and improve the accuracy of sound field reconstruction effectively. The proposed method can be used to localize the sound source and reconstruct the sound field radiated from an arbitrary sound source.
